My Gift for My Mom

This is what I got my mom for Mother's Day -- makeup of course! I bought these items about 2 weeks ago, but I didn't want to blog about this until after I gave my mom her gift (in case she might've read this before Mother's Day, which is very likely haha).

She hasn't tried MAC Dazzleglass yet, so I figured I would get her one in "Get Rich Quick". It's a warm yellow brown color. Her favorite color is purple, so I bought MAC Mineralize E/S Duo in "Odd Couple" because it has a really pretty purple in it. I also got the last Prep + Prime Line Filler in stock at my local MAC *phew*. I've been talking to my mom about this line filler for a while, so I really wanted to get it for her.


This is a close up of the Too Faced Glamour To Go palette. This is great for keeping in your purse to touch up your eye shadow and lipstick throughout the day. I saw my mom eyeing this at Ulta the last time we went shopping together, but it was out of stock. So I made sure to pick this one up as well to include in my gift.

On Sunday, my parents picked up my little sister from her dorm and then they came over to my neck of the woods. We ate at this Korean BBQ restaurant called Palace BBQ Buffet, and then we watched Star Trek afterward. If you haven't seen this movie yet, you should watch it! It was awesome -- a lot of action, a little bit of romance, and also some comedy. You don't have to be a "trekkie" or even know anything about Star Trek to enjoy it. :)

Mother's Day was a lot of fun, and I hope you all had a great time too!

Anniversary Gift From My Boyfriend :)

My boyfriend and I celebrate our anniversary every month. I know, I know... it's a little kiddy, but we still like it. We just celebrated 2 1/2 years a couple days ago, so we gave each other slightly bigger presents than the usual monthly exchange. This was my main present from him -- a MAC pro palette with 15 colors! :D





I had so much fun arranging the colors in my palettes. I had one previously, which I turned into more of my neutral palette since I have a lot of browns. I ended up exchanging 3 colors and tossing one out, because I recently learned that I don't do too well with red pigment :( So I exchanged Beauty Marked, Passionate, and Plum Dressing (and threw away Post Haste which I bought in August) and got Electra, Aquadisiac, Paradisco, and Cranberry (this one was a little risky since it does have some red, but I'm hoping it will be okay -- it was just too pretty!).

Tarte The Vanity Limited Edition Palette Review

I bought tarte's newest palette at Sephora. It's called "The Vanity", and it's a follow up to tarte's "We Wish You Well" holiday palette from last year. It comes with 16 brand-new eyeshadows, 16 brand-new lipglosses, a luminizer, a mineral powder bronzer in Park Avenue Princess, a mini "Lights, Camera, Lashes!" mascara, and 2 brushes (one eyeshadow and one eyelining)! It was $52, but for 41 items, that's only $1.27 each!!!

Overall, this palette is great! tarte makeup has Vitamin E in it too (good for preventing premature aging)! This palette would make a wonderful holiday gift for your makeup loving friend or family member (or yourself!).
