Prom Purple Makeup Look

It's that time of year again when I start seeing more limousines, pretty dresses, and nice tuxes when I go out for dinner. Seeing everyone dressed up and having a good time brings back memories of when I went to prom. When I was in high school, I attended four proms (two Junior year and two Senior year haha). I did my own hair and makeup all four times (and wore my prom dress two times Junior year and my other prom dress two times Senior year -- I wanted to get my money's worth!). I came up with a purple makeup look for prom, in case any of you plan to do your own makeup.

Here's a close up of the eye shadow:

EYES
MAC Paint Pot in "Soft Ochre" (entire lid and brow bone -- this will help your eye shadow stay nice and vibrant as you dance the night away!)
MAC E/S in "Parafait Amour" (inner and center lid)
MUFE (Make Up For Ever) E/S #92 (it's the darker shade of purple on the outer corner)
MAC E/S in "Carbon" (lightly blend into outer V to create depth)
MAC Fluidline in "Blacktrack" (as eye liner, or you can also use "Carbon" e/s with a small angle brush like MAC 266 to line your upper lash line)
(optional) lilac concealer on the inner lower lash line/tear duct to brighten the eyes

CHEEKS
MAC Beauty Powder Blush in "Stark Naked"
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in "Soft & Gentle"

LIPS
MAC L/S in "Lavender Whip"

This is the MUFE E/S #92 that I used on the outer corner. It's such a gorgeous purple shade. It's $19 USD at Sephora. I included pictures of this eye shadow below (with and without flash) in case you want to use a similar eye shadow color that you already own:

You could wear this look to a night out too. :) Have fun, whatever you'll be up to!

hi nerdygirl! i'm luvin' MUFE as of the moment because of their uber pigmented shadows and blushes. they're so hard to remove as well so i find that as a good characteristic.

I'm looking for a really nice violet eyeshadow and good thing i found your blog. My problem with mac is, their e/s's are either too dark or too light. I want something in between so i guess MUFE's e/s in 92 is perfect. I bought the MUFE blush in 58. It's a raspberry blush but i find it too exaggerated for my cheeks. but since i love the color, i bought it and opted to use it as an e/s. Though it should be used with care or you'll end up as a neon lightbulb! :) you should try that. It'll go well with 92. :) I hope you could visit my blog! more power! :)
